Phil is the newest rhost on Lime Radio! He is also the food trends editor and on-air contributor to NBC's TODAY Show he is an expert on the retail environment and new marketing trends/products in the food and health worlds. The "Supermarket Guru®," Lempert is a respected analyst with an uncanny ability to identify and explain trends to both industry and consumers in a thought provoking and entertaining manner. He started out his life born into the food world by checking the supermarket shelves with his Dad, working at McDonald's and Howard Johnson's in High School, and after graduating Drexel University with a degree in Marketing and Retail Management worked in his family's food brokerage firm. Not content to rely on 'passive merchandising', Lempert began publishing the bi-weekly "The Lempert Report®" and became the 'spokesman' for food consumerism. He has appeared numerous times on The View, Oprah, 20/20, CNN, CNBC, and MSNBC as well as on local television morning and news programs throughout the country. "Before You Bite®" with Phil Lempert, is a weekly live call-in radio show on Lime Radio broadcast on Sirius #114 and airs nationwide. He has been profiled and interviewed by USA Today, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Oakland Tribune, Forbes, Newsweek and Ad Age. Lempert's latest books are - Being the Shopper (John Wiley & Sons) and Healthy Wealthy & Wise (McCleery Publishing). Previously published books include : Phil Lempert's Supermarket Shopping & Value Guide, Top Ten Trends for Baby Boomers, and Crisis Management: A Workbook for Survival. A resident of California, Lempert's roots are in the Belleville, New Jersey dairy farm started by his grandfather. The family food tradition carried on through his father's work as a food manufacturer, distributor and broker. |
