The Green Room: Jimmy Smits Returns!
Posted by Joshua W. Jackson on January 5, 2007 - 4:41am.

In perhaps his most heroic act yet, former NYPD Blue star Jimmy Smits is hosting Edens Lost & Found, a PBS program that will examine the need for green spaces in and around Los Angeles. The special will also delve into the area of environmental justice, thus saving Smits from disappointing millions who still expect him to play good cop. Fortunately, the show may also serve as a pilot for a brand new Smits series; LAPD Green.

Golden Globe nominated international superstar Penelope Cruz was honored for her participation in drawing an expo entitled "Water and Sustainable Development" to Spain in 2008. Entertainment industry analysts predict that Cruz will still be an international superstar at the time of the expo, barring a sequel to Vanilla Sky.

Pop star Pink has teamed up with PETA to call for a boycott of Australian wool products after discovering that the Australia wool industry often resorts to cruel and sometimes disgusting treatment of sheep. The abuses include cutting flesh from the rear end of the sheep, physical beating, and long periods of exposure to Pink's music.

The Governator is reportedly throwing a million dollar bash on Friday, January 5th to celebrate his November reelection. Guests will be transported to the event in zero-emissions hydrogen vehicles and the party will be powered by solar energy and biodiesel generators. Music stars Paul Anka and Donna Summer are scheduled to perform. The catch? Among the list of corporations who donated at least $50,000 to the event is oil giant Chevron. It remains unclear whether that fact will be advertised at the party, or if Arnold will leave it in the garage with his several gas guzzling hummers.

examine the need for green spaces in and around Los Angeles, what happen to NY -- also the way this weather has been changing -- regarding PINK -- we won't need wool anymore -- because we'll be stripping off our clothes due to the heat..  as for the gas guzzlers, we need to make a more demand for electric cars and definitely another solution besides oil.  since we're at war for who controls the oil.

I agree that we need to find other ways to fuel ourselves.  I think the biodiesel is an interesting way to go.  With solar cars, what happens if you live out in Seatlle and you don't get any sunshine?  I think you may have a problem getting to work.  I can't believe anyone can question that with this freaky weather that global warmi ng doesn't exist.  Did you see Al Gore's movie?

Interests: Horseback riding, watching the silence of the snow, obviously anything creative, cooking
Inspiration: Like most of you, when I heard of recycling to save the earth, I naturally assumed I needed to separate my plastics, newspapers and glass. I was helping. That was all I needed to do. Then one day, I was searching around for something fun, some art, and I came across this abstract piece. It was gorgeous - it looked like a naturally formed wave of icy white water bursting into the air. When I looked closer at it, I saw that it was made from recycled plastic caps. I was in shock. What kind of imagination and talent does that take to look at a plastic cap and see more to it then what it actually is? How can someone be so ingenious that they can take something that we normally throw away and create such a piece of beauty with it? This is the thought process that I could not stop pondering and it took over my mind, body and soul and soon enough became my muse. I began Earth's Journey for this reason. I wanted to show the world that there was more to saving the earth than just recycling. There is beauty in things we can't even imagine, and so many ways to help our planet flourish. There are products out there that we all could use to completely decorate, furnish and run a home... all environmentally safe. You can buy organic bedding, non-toxic cleaning detergents, solar power, or make a change in a small way by using energy-efficient light bulbs. But the best part of recycling and being eco-friendly is the beauty that you'll find here, with all of our different artisans. As you can see I'm very passionate about this type of artistic creativity, and I hope you will be too. I invite you to sit back, relax and ... Be Inspired by Green!
