Asana Apparel Par Excellence

I’ve never been one who felt it was necessary to wear clothes designed specifically for yoga—a plain T-shirt and a pair of Nike running shorts have done me just fine in my asana practice for several years. I figure that yoga practitioners 5,000 years ago didn’t have special yoga garb, so why should I?

Yoga Couture

Fine art and haute couture meet cotton and lycra in Victoria Keen's one-of-a-kind silkscreened yoga clothes, a line that's been growing exponentially over the past several years. Keen's Kali line now offers 21 different garments, including five styles of yoga pants. The L.A.-bred artist's signature style is a slim boot cut pant with a fold-over waistband – totally comfortable, and totally flattering. They retail at her Lafayette Street shop/art studio and on her website for $135, and it's worth the trip because some stores and yoga studios charge as much as $150. Lest you worry that you're going to “ruin” them by wearing them too often, rest assured that these yoga pants are just as durable as those plain black ones you've been wearing for the last five years (okay, maybe that's me).
