Breaking Habits Through Yoga

Yoga gets you out of habits and opens places deep within your body, where you store emotional difficulties. These places are like black holes. Yoga exposes your habits. For instance, your posture - it's usually so habitual you never even think about it. Maybe you lean forward or backwards, stand on one leg, or lean into one hip. Perhaps you always sit the same way at the computer so the same side of your neck hurts, or one side of your back is sore. You're always contracting the same set of muscles. But in yoga, you learn to bring your body close to the center, around the plumb line of your skeleton. Then none of your muscles get over worked and your body stays fluid. Your entire organism, including your mind, stays healthy. No more black holes.
