A recent installment of National Public Radio’s [1] ongoing series The Geography of Heaven [2] —a post entitled The Lessons of the Buddha [3]—features a wonderful interactive guided audio tour [4] of Lord Buddha’s Wheel Of Life [5] with audio explanations of the six stages of life [6] by the celebrated scholar of Tibetan Buddhism, Robert Thurman [7].

The web feature also contains discussions with three prominent experts in Buddhism—French anthropologist and photographer Katia Buffetrille [8], further comments by noted Columbia University scholar Robert A.F. Thurman [9], and some insight into the basics of Tibetan Buddhism from the principal English translator to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Thupten Jinpa [10].

Both Thurman and Jinpa are scheduled to participate in the forthcoming Mind & Reality Symposium [11], a conference at Columbia University investigating multidisciplinary approaches to consciousness and neuroscience.
