Female Nonsmokers More Likely Develop Lung Cancer
February 11, 2007 - 4:03am
from The Seattle Times
A survey of 1 million people shows that 8 percent of male lung cancer patients are nonsmokers. Researchers cannot explain why the number zooms to 20 percent for women, but they cite that, statistically, women are exposed to more secondhand smoke.

how much is too much?
by Vicki_R on February 12, 2007 - 10:10am
As a female non-smoker, I am now officially concerned!  My mother smoked my entire childhood life.  I always thought that I would be unlikely to get lung cancer since I made the decision to not follow in her footsteps.  I always knew that second hand smoke was harmful, but it now makes me question "how much is too much"?  Are my college days hanging out in smokey bars going to kill me?  I hope not.  I definitely will be watching for more info on this subject.
