Welcome to the Organic Gardener's forum. This is a place to ask questions and just talk about what's going on in your garden.

Jessica and I will visit often to answer questions and maybe ask some of our own.

So how is your season going so far?

will weed killer kill my soil?
by Vicki_R on April 17, 2007 - 2:09pm
If I used non-organic, weed killer on my garden, can I then use the same earth to plant new schrubs or flowers or do I need to use new potting soil? It was you basic bottled weed killer, not industrial strength, just for bothersome weeds.

I would change it

I think you'll be OK, it's been a year right? Next time try something like Burn Out, it's organic, safe and works better than Round Up.

where can I find?

No, it has been recently.  How long would I have to wait?  Where can you find Burn Out? Would Home Depot have it?

a few months
by dougoster on April 30, 2007 - 1:17pm

If it's an herbacide, you should wait a few months. Maybe you can dig in some new soil with compost and hope for the best.

Burn Out should or another product like it should be available at any good nursery.

Hope that helps,

Doug

I start my plants around
by dougoster on February 21, 2008 - 12:42pm

I start my plants around April 1. That give them enough time to get big enough, but not too big.

I'm not sure how long this forum will be here, check us out at www.theorganicgardeners.com and click on the garden forum there.

Thanks,

Doug
