As a landscaper I am very conscientious about all of the lawn clippings that I haul to the dump, or used to haul as I should say. Luckily I discovered that Oceanside has a wonderful curbside greenwaste program to recycle all sorts of yard waste. They take things like leaves, tree branches, lawn clippings, weeds, and even sawdust. We are fortunate enough to have this great service and the city picks the greenwaste up right in front of our homes! Just wondering if most cities have this service or does this kind of waste end up in the dump?

We also have a pick up service for yard waste here in FL. I think it is recycled, but not 100% sure. I'll have to check it out!

We have good curbside pickup here in Stockton. Amazing what penalties can do for a city. We used to have awful pickup service, but we were so badly out of compliance that we had to upgrade to the newest standards. I have a greenwaste, a recycling, and a garbage can out in front of my house waiting for pickup this morning. We cannot recycle #2 and #6 grocery bags in the bin, we have to take those back to a couple of grocery stores. Waste Management takes other #2 and #6 items but the bags gum up their machines.
I need to check into something like that, because I am always throwing away ALOT of yard waste... branches, lawn clippings, etc.
