Check out your walking score
Posted by Ecobabe on July 28, 2007 - 3:03pm.
image Just found this site and it is kind of cool. Basically lets you know if the neighborhood you live in or are thinking of moving to is a walkable place to live. It's easy to navigate the page and it might even enlighten you to some places around your home that you didn't know were there. I discovered a great looking book store with this site. Unfortunately I have a terrible Walk Score but when I move I will definitely be coming back to this site. Here's the link:

Mine wasn't that great either, but it was cool to see what it came up with.  Interesting site.

Embarrassing

My walk score is 0!! I don’t have anything too close to my house, I guess I will have to wait until the city grows a little more, then it will go up!

Proud

I am very proud in what I received in my score, 40! I never realized that I live so close to many places, which I visit often, but always decide to take the car, guess I should start reconsidering that.

Mine is really bad, but they seemed to leave out some stuff. Of course, I'm a weirdo that would walk an hour and a half to the bank and back on a leisurely day. Eh. I guess a 29 isn't too bad... haha.

Great Score

I had a very good walk score from my home, 58!  Not bad!  But I do live in Northern VA and there are so many places within walking distance.  My score from my work address is even better, 85.  Too bad I can't walk from my home to my work.  That would be wonderful!  But I do take public transportation (the metro).... every little bit helps.

walking in different cities

Mine was 29 and there was not much I would walk to on the list.  But I think that it would be great when you travel to different cities.  See what you could walk to.
