There seems be to a lot of confusion over what the term"green" means. Years ago recycling was a big deal, now the rules have changed. What does it mean to be "green"?

I think that is an issue we are all trying to understand here at LIME. But just taking the time to consider the planet in your everyday choices is part of being green. I like the various suggestions for some ways to make small changes that realistically fit in our lives like the Top Ten Ways to Being Green

I think being  green is a lifestyle choice. What your definition of  being green today may change tommorow. I know I am always trying to find ways to improve my life and incorporating "green " into it is another way in which I do so.  The top ten was helpful in pointing out how easy it is to make just one small change.  In reading the articles on LIME, I realize it isn't about comparing myself to others, but doing what is comfortable for me.

I agree that to be green might be different from one person to the other BUT as in the plant world, a tree is not a rose STILL they have the same principle: roots, stem, leaves...So it is with us...We are all different BUT alike for what we wish on that matter: a planet that is cleaner and safer for our kids...So...How do we do it?  Would you believe that just turning off lights when you do not need them, putting fluorescent lights in your house, re using and recycling as you can, shopping in thrift shops (kinda recycling this is) as well as online with sites like Amazon.com or Barnes and Nobles "as new", using each time you can a tote bag (or alike) instead of plastic supermarket bags as well as your own mug when you get a coffee like at Starbucks..can be done EASILY and it is a good start!

http://www.lime.com/live_the_change. I agree that the principles of being green do not change.  These LIME tips for easy ways to start the process are helpful and have some of your ideas listed as well.  My kids are learning about how we can make the planet better.  By eating and using healthier products, I hope I am introducing them to alternative ways that will help all of us in the end.  If you pick up any magazine or newspaper, you will untimately see an article on global warming, gas emissions or how we are struggling to make our community cleaner.  We all must listen and start to help.
