Reversing Heart Disease
Posted by Lee Wolf on September 29, 2007 - 12:29pm.

I recently went to a cardiologist, took a walking stress test with IV, and three days later did it again, this tme followed by MRIs of the heart.

I was told I had failed all tests MRIs showed problems in two areas. Apparently clogged arteries. It was requested that I do a catherization then, with bypass surgery probably to follow. I have done nothing as yet. I always like to look at natural healing first if it is possible.

I was given a book written by Dr. Dean Ornish -"Reversing Heart Disease". Also I've been told about Oral Chelation supplements to remove plaque and clear the arteries. I don't know if it works, or how long it would take if it does. ( maybe if it could get results in 6 months or so I would try it )  If anyone knows anything about this sort of thing,  I would appreciate hearing from you.  Thanks.

MRI's are very accurate. Go on and get the cath/bypass if needed. The key will be keeping your arteries clean afterward. I know your apprehensive about  talk of invasive procedures. If it helps get a second opinion. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

You are probably right. I guess a cath is the only way to know what it looks like. I had a catherization years ago though, that didn't  require anything further to be done at that time. The problem then was I was allergic to the dye ( which no one knew) . That almost didn't turn out good.  But  I just wondered if these supplements seen advertised on the internet and in the health food stores really work to clear the arteries as advertised.  It sounds good, but does it work?

Thanks for the reply.

The one pill...

I'm a firm believer in the body healing itself via food and self care.  There many people who have strengthened their bodies, including their hearts and the cardio system with healing and whole foods..

Dr Ornish is a very respected physician..as is Dr Mehmet Oz, Dr Barry Sears, Dr Andrew Weil...They are all not only well respected MDs but they also beleive in integrative and holistic medicine. Looking at body via all the facets that play into your overall health.

I don't believe there is no one pill that will reverse anything..but there may be changes in your diet that can seriously effect your heart.  You might also want to get into yoga, and the healing power of meditation and chakras. There may be something else that has troubled your heart, your emotional heart, that is also effecting your physical one.

Answers don't come in a pill

I know it isn't the quick and easy answer we all want, but bah on pills as magic cures.

The good news is you can absolutely reverse heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, etc. through positive dietary changes.

PCRM.org (Physicians' Committee for Responsible Medicine) should have some resources online, including menus/recipes.
