Recently I have read a lot about using organic cleaning products and I have been a bit hesitant to try them.  Old habits die hard.  But I think that I may have begun to be convinced and will be stopping at Whole Foods to give a few a try.  I just wonder if they really clean? 

 

And sometimes a little better, I have been using all natural cleaning products in my home for over a year now...nothing was worse than slaving over a bathtub with noxious cleaning fumes hitting you right in the face, now I get nice natural smells, that don't make me feel like I am going to pas out if I inhale them.

What are some of the brand names that you would recommend? Also what are method products, never heard of them? 

Anything that would help make cleaning toilets better is a welcome blessing!!

I haven't seen a good toliet cleaning product yet...let me know if you find one.  I want one that requires no brush!

Indoor air pollution is a big environmental health problem.  Chemicals that are found in our homes have been linked to allergies, birth defects, cancer, and psychological abnormalities.  Another alarming concern is that more children under the age of four die of accidental poisonings at home.  The real tragedy is that accidents and health issues such as these can easily be avoided, by using more effective, environmentally safe eco-sense cleansers and products that have no alarming health risks.  Walk down the grocery aisle with the featured cleansers and take a deep breath.  It about knocks you out!  I scringe every time I see the commercial advertising sanitizing wipes with the child standing next to mom.  The mom is getting a harmful chemical into her bloodstream as she has no gloves on, both mom and child are breathing in the harmful chemical.  You read the information on the label: precausion statements, caution, first aid, if in the eyes, poison contact number.  Just that information alone on the container is precausionary enough not to use.

I just love that Target-one of my favorite stores lately.  I knew that they are carrying organic food but did not know they carried cleaning products as well.  How are the prices?

That is so true about walking by the store aisle with cleaning products. The smell really takes my breath away. That is something that I didn't notice before using the organic cleaning products. Now after using them, I notice the smell of the others even more.

I used to think that I was getting a little high when I cleaned my bathtub and I probably was.  My dead would feel a little lightheaded-g-d knows what I was inhaling.

The products method is making sure look great and I've heard a lot of folks saying they're great. Now if Target was closer than 1.5 hours away.... 

Observe the world as though you were a child and enjoy the wonder of it all.

There's a ton of information out there about making your own cleaning products. I've purchased products from Trader Joe's and have tried Method from Target, but come on, let's face it, don't you feel like you're getting gypped having to pay so much for "good-to-the-earth" products? I sometimes feel like I'm the emperor with no clothes on .... and that once again it's a system of economics that's taking advantage of my willingness to be duped.

Personally, I get a lot more joy about of a vinegar/water mixture for cleaning throughout my house. I find it much more effective than any of the "natural" items for sale. And I am coming to associate the vinegar smell with a clean smell, and actually quite starting to love it. 

Just use a spray bottle you already have in your house. And  you can re-use it and re-use it and re-use it. And therein you are making a better choice than by buying anything such as Method or similar prodcuts because you are using one bottle instead of contributing through your purchases to the production of more plastic bottles.

What is the water to vinegar ratio and can you really use it to clean toilets?  I know that is good for windows, but I am leary about other usages.

It's amazing what Oprah seems to do for every industry she gets involved with.  Now all I hear about are these Shaklee products and anything she that was  featured on her show.  I am tempted to try them.  I will check out your site.  I am always concerned about the toilets with 3 men in the house!

anyways - i have finally managed to get the chemicals out! - soybean oil with a little murphy's oil soap is a great polish.  vinegar and water with essential oils is a great all purpose cleaner :) - vinegar, water and murphy's for the floor. - borax or baking soda for toilet and tub.
it feels good using all homemade stuff to clean my house, i actually like to clean now:)
