Inspirational Teabags
Posted by Vicki_R on September 20, 2007 - 1:30pm.

Inspiration, that thing in life that inspires us to be better individuals, better occupants on earth, better neighbors, better mothers and fathers and better people in general.  After reading a tip on LIME about ginger tea and digestion, I decided to give it a try.  I decided on the brand of Yogi Tea. Not only did I get tea, but with each teabag comes a little inspirational note.  A few of my latest were:

"There is nothing more precious than the self"

"The purpose of life is to enjoy every moment"

"Say it straight, simple and with a smile"

Can we really derive inspiration from a teabag?  At first I thought it was a little corny, but now I actually look forward to seeing what I am going to get. How do you get your inspiration?

"Most of us spend half our time wishing for things we could have if we didn't spend half our time wishing."

Why not?

I don't see why you couldn't get inspiration from a teabag.  If it makes you stop and think about something, be more mindful of your actions or words, I suppose you can derive inspiration from just about anything!

It sounds a bit cheesy, but a great deal of my inspiration comes from my dog.  My husband and I don't have children yet, but here is this animal that depends on us to survive and who is so excited about every little thing.  I try to get excited about the little things now, too!  :-)

I've heard of Yogi Tea, but haven't had the opportunity to try it.  I'd have to order online as there isn't anywhere here that sells it.   I love love love tea!

from the funniest places

I was inspired to stop and take stock of my priorities the other day.  I sell books through amazon so I can stay home full time with my 1 year old son.  It's definantly a full time job, so I still juggle housework, work, being a wife, cooking, and my son... just in a housecoat instead of a worksuit.  The other day I was trying to get several books listed before the day was done.  My son spent most of the day entertaining himself by playing and sitting at my feet listening to music and banging tupperware together.  He had finally had enough of my preoccupation and demanded I play a game.  He handed me a book from my pile and then demanded it back.  This continued for quite awhile.  I had had enough of the game and tossed the book back in the pile.  He toddled over grabbed the same book and continued the game, but with more determination.  I finally stopped to look at the book.  The title was, Sometimes God has a child's face.  Tears welled up in my eyes and I stopped and played with my son for the rest of the evening.  Inspiration comes from random places.
