A recent installment of National Public Radio’s ongoing series The Geography of Heaven —a post entitled The Lessons of the Buddha—features a wonderful interactive guided audio tour of Lord Buddha’s Wheel Of Life with audio explanations of the six stages of life by the celebrated scholar of Tibetan Buddhism, Robert Thurman.

The web feature also contains discussions with three prominent experts in Buddhism—French anthropologist and photographer Katia Buffetrille, further comments by noted Columbia University scholar Robert A.F. Thurman, and some insight into the basics of Tibetan Buddhism from the principal English translator to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Thupten Jinpa.

Both Thurman and Jinpa are scheduled to participate in the forthcoming Mind & Reality Symposium, a conference at Columbia University investigating multidisciplinary approaches to consciousness and neuroscience.
